-Give us a little background info about yourself...
My name is Brandon. I reside in the greater Salt Lake City area. I am extremely organized, meticulous and detail oriented. I photograph with lens diversity. I am energetic, positive and upbeat while photographing. I love exploring the great outdoors. I love hiking, A-frame cabins, leather goods, mountains, ranches, lakes, chasing fog, old trucks, hats, canoes and evergreen trees. I rarely go anywhere without my camera, tripod, Red Wing boots, Carhartt jacket, Moleskine journals, Apple iPhone, and my Toyota FJ Cruiser.
-Do you have a day job and weekend hobbies, or do you make a living doing what you truly love?
I am blessed to be able to make a living doing what I truly love which is photography. My father has a small ranch with cattle and miniature donkeys. I enjoy spending my free time there.
-Tell us about an experience you had in the last few years that had a positive impact on your life.
I fully dedicated a full two years of my life serving as a Mormon missionary for my church in Atlanta Georgia. I was able to focus entirely on helping others come closer to Christ as well as provide service for those who stood in need. Through my LDS mission I learned business, people and organizational skills.
-What do you enjoy doing most in life, and what gear do you own that helps maximize the experience?
I enjoy hiking with my wife and two daughters. We use Osprey Packs to carry each of our daughters as we hike. I enjoy wandering in the mountains looking for unique photos to take. I rarely go anywhere without a pair of Red Wing Heritage boots. My favorite camera gear is made by Hold Fast Gear. My holdfast gear products have made portrait sessions extremely efficient. For every hour and 30 minutes I photo I save at least 30 minutes of time. Time previously wasted fumbling with lenses. It gives me a piece of mind having a second camera there ready to go.
-What is a quote or motto that you live by?
"Creation brings deep satisfaction and fulfillment. We develop ourselves and others when we take unorganized matter into our hands and mold it into something of beauty. The more you trust and rely upon the Spirit, the greater your capacity to create. That is your opportunity in this life and your destiny in the life to come." -Dieter F. Uchtdorf
What is something unique about yourself?
I am left handed. I think backward all the time.
